New feature Whisper 25/30: Hydraulic Boost

The Whisper Ultra 25/30 was successfully introduced during last year’s autumn shows. Today Mastervolt introduces a new feature for the Whisper 25/30 Ultra: the Hydraulic Boost.


The low RPM diesel generator offers 25 kW power at 50 Hz or 30 kW at 60 Hz. The extremely compact generator (dimensions: LxWxH 126 x 68 x 80 cm.) is exceptionally quiet due to effcient sound proofing and is relatively lightweight (580 kg. including sound shield canopy).

The optional PTO (Power Take Off) to mount a hydraulic pump makes this unit even more attractive for high profile sailing vessels where a lot of hydraulic power is required (PTO adapter: SAE B two hole flange and 13 teeth spine shaft)

New feature: the Hydraulic Boost
When under sail, often little electric power is required, but even more hydraulic power than a 1500 RPM or 1800 RPM engine can deliver. Hydraulic Boost offers extra hydraulic power up to 37 kW by increasing the rotational speed of the engine up to 2200 RPM.

This Hydraulic Boost option works fully automatically, after pushing the Hydro Boost button the electric power is switched off, the internal alternator circuitry is isolated and the RPM increased resulting in extra hydraulic power available. 

At the same time electric power supply can be taken over by a Mastervolt DC to AC inverter that can supply up to 15 kW AC from the batteries. The Hydraulic Boost option is very attractive for high profile sailing yachts when extended hydropower is required.
