Mastervolt wins Sloten/Hindelopen/Bolsward stage

All is quiet at the beginning of the 2012 Frisian E-performance Challenge. There are no droning engines to be heard, just a duck quacking. SEFF chairman Wilco Waller barely needs to raise his voice to count down the last 10 seconds. Upon hearing the starting shot, the fully electrically propelled sloops rush towards the Slotermeer lake. The strong south-westerly wind makes the water quite rough, but that is no problem for the electric sloops, which sail smoothly towards the Heegermeer and Fluezen lakes. The sun comes out once and for all as we reach Hindelopen. The trick is now to sail towards Bolsward, where the finish awaits us, as efficiently as possible. After checking how much battery capacity we have left, we decide to put our foot down for a final sprint. When we get to the finish, we even have enough left over for a comfortable sail through Bolsward. How beautiful Friesland is seen from the water! A fine triumph in a magnificent environment.

SEFF organises the Frisian E-performance Challenge every two years.
