Leban Watercraft’s carbon Catamaran “Batman”

"Together we will build the lightest, fastest and most efficient electric power boat" - this sentence was the start of another great cooperation between LEBAN Watercraft and Mastervolt Austria (Doma Engineering GmbH)

Located beside the beautiful Neusiedlersee close to Vienna, Leban Watercraft has been a manufacturer for more than 30 years of high technology composite carbon boats.

The company is very active in promoting electric propulsion, and has produced a lot of special boats capable of maintaining 25 knots for over an hour on batteries alone, but also bigger boats for the commercial shipping.

The latest model, a 10 meter Catamaran, called "Batman", is handmade out of special Nomex combs with carbon shell. One hull weights only 17 kg (!) and the whole boat without our electric equipment is about 130 kg (!).

Batman is fully electrical propelled with two new Mastervolt DriveMaster Ultra 16 kW, with power coming from 4 Mastervolt MLI24/160 Lithium-Ion batteries per hull in series connection.

Each Lithium battery will be charged by a small ChargeMaster 24/12 mounted directly on top of the battery.

With the support and help from Marien Schoonen the software of the DriveMaster has been tuned, and with the new "Boost" mode, we have been able to double the power for the first 15 seconds.

At the first test run, the boat reached 47km/h within NO time, as you can see in the video. As this is the first prototype we still have to do some updates....our next target is 50 km/h...
