The 'BiebBus'
A new 'BiebBus' (library bus) has been specially designed for primary school students in ages 4 to 12 from the Zaan district. The BiebBus visits schools which have no local library branch – twenty primary schools are now successfully using this mobile solution.
Simply explained, the BiebBus is a trailer with a container that can be raised to create a portable library space. The bottom floor then serves for borrowing books and the upper level is set up as a special reading room including computers. The BiebBus was built by Griffioen, while a team from De Jong Technovaria installed the stand heating, air conditioning, diesel generator and off-grid Mastervolt system with battery pack.
