Meet the distributor: Exalto Emirates, GCC

Our ‘Meet the Distributor’ posts introduce our partners and showcases the vital work they do. This time, we’ve spoken to Eelke Sijbrandij, Electrical & Monitoring specialist at Exalto Emirates who represent Mastervolt in the GCC.

Tell us about yourselves and how long you have been working with Mastervolt?

Exalto Emirates are the exclusive distributor for Mastervolt in the GCC. The main point of contact for Mastervolt customers is Eelke, who looks after all the enquiries about power electronics, network, and monitoring services.

What are the key Mastervolt products you sell, and who are your main customers?

Initially, the Mastervolt ChargeMaster range was the best seller, however, this trend has now changed towards CZone equipment and the supporting Mastervolt system solutions. Our key Mastervolt customers are B2B who supply electrical components in the professional marine industry, including boat builders, government services and rental companies.

What is your favourite thing about selling Mastervolt products?

That’s a nice question! I would say being able to offer a world class leading solution to all our customers, and that after installation they can be left there with peace of mind that they have super products in place, and the reassurance of great aftersales care and support.

There have been huge advances in the technology used with power electronics in recent years. What has been the biggest change or development for you?

In addition to the rise of lithium-ion batteries, I would say the facility to now integrate a system with CZone control and monitoring and NMEA 2000 would be the biggest development. The approach of Advanced Systems Group, which Mastervolt is a key brand in, to complete integration and providing every required element right down to the cabling and fuses is impressive!

How have you seen the market changing over the last few years towards these new and emerging technologies?

I think the introduction of the iPhone kickstarted the ‘ease of control’ era that we are in now. Customers expect everything to be as easy and logical as using an iPhone and that they should be able to do most things from their phones, including monitoring and controlling their boats!

Where do you see the future of power electronics going in the next 5 years? Any trends that your customers should be on the lookout for?

I think the ‘plug and play’ approach will continue and improve for system solutions. The customer demand is there, so I am sure the technology will develop further.

Do you have a favourite product from the Mastervolt range?

At Exalto Emirates, we love installing a big lithium-ion battery solution. They are always fun since they always require a big and complex supporting system, which is great to do. We have the technical expertise to take on projects of any size.
