Genverter System

Mastervolt has announced the launch of the groundbreaking new GENVERTER system. Integrating the new Whisper 6 kW Ultra generator and the new Mass Combi inverter/charger, it is the first combined high-power inverter/generator system available on the market. Simple to install, the GENVERTER offers exceptionally low noise and vibration levels.


The Whisper 6 Ultra is able to run with an inverter, providing more power during peak hours and automatic switch off during periods of low energy use when the inverter takes over the AC power supply. This reduces generator running costs, provides smoother generator running with sufficient load and more ‘silent’ time.

 

The Mass Combi takes care of the inverter function of the system, automatically increasing the power of the generator when onboard power demands exceed 6 kW. The Mass Combi 2kW increases power up to 8 kW, the Mass Combi 4 kW up to 10 kW (plus additional surge power). The extra power needed is delivered by the battery. When no additional power is required, the Mass Combi operates as an automatic battery charger to recharge the service bank.

 

The charger also maintains the battery banks when shore power is available. During ‘dead ship’ periods, when the Whisper generator is switched off, silent 230 or 120 V  AC power is delivered via the 2 or 4 kWatt inverter in the form of a smooth pure sine wave. The inverter also upgrades restricted shore power, enabling all AC appliances to operate on ‘limited fused’ shore power too.
